Lego Table TP5K style

See that Lego bag in the bottom right hand corner, designed to keep your Lego contained and neat and tidy? Yep, well not three days later it inevitably ends up like the picture below, which was taken this morning.   The boys always end up on the floor ferreting through it to find the pieces they want and it NEVER stays in the bastard bag. EVER. Then there is the song-and-dance routine to get the boys to clear it all up back into the bag; this starts with me nagging and saying well, if you didn’t let it...

Mega Bloks is NOT Lego

For the uninitiated MOB’s or Halo minded girls, a word from the wise. From the blistered fingered and jagged fingernailed wise mother who made a mistake out shopping last week. MEGA BLOKS is not LEGO. Now, it is cunningly disguised as LEGO and to cast an idle eye over it, it certainly pulls the deception off, but don’t let it fool you. Don’t be sucked in by its knobbly likeness. This fucker is NOT Lego and you will curse your decision to let it into your house. THIS is LEGO – see, where it says LEGO in the top left hand corner?...

Our Easter Tree

This will be the fourth year we have done an Easter Tree. I had never heard of them until I met my first husband whose sister had married a German fella – apparently Easter Trees are a common European Tradition and if you google the term Easter Tree you will find heaps; all based on using a twiggy branch and decorating with eggs. I thought it would be a nice tradition to do once we had kids, and so on the second weekend before Easter we put up our Easter Tree with much anticipation and delight. It is where we...

How to make a Malteaser Christmas Tree.

Image Credit So, the image above has been floating in my head as a treat to have on the table for Christmas Day. I decided it couldn’t be THAT hard and today I tried to recreate it in all its chocolate malty goodness. Here are some of my failed attempts and (eventual) success tips 🙂 My FIRST idea was to use that icing that comes in a tube that you write with. I got two layers on and quickly realised that it wasnt going to work; I needed something gooier. So I decided to melt some chocolate (I wasted...

How to make a Birthday Board :)

Hidy Ho fellow crafters – welcome to my FIRST and most probably last, crafty blog post 🙂 A few of you liked my Birthday Board that I did last week which shows family birthdays and anniversaries, so here is my explanation of how I made it. Please hit me with any questions if I haven’t explained something well enough. Firstly you will need to go to your local hardware store and purchase the following items. I originally bought a laminated shelf and it was a big mistake, HUGE. It was so hard to nail into and the laminate kept splitting. I...

How much do you love your MIL?

I want to share with you the wreath I made for my Mother In Law for Christmas last year 🙂 I ordered it as a kit from The Fox Collection  earlier in the year to make for my little family but when I showed the MIL, she also fell in love with it and asked if she was to buy another kit, would I make it for her? I readily agreed thinking what a lovely thing that she had asked, and then I opened the package.  Three words. What a Bastard Not the MIL The wreath. You know how there...
