Chocolate Mud Cake Recipe

Normally for the kids birthdays I make a packet cake (shhhh) but for an Adult cake, I go the extra mile and actually make it from scratch.  Lets face it, the kids (well, mine) are all about the cake appearance and normally lick the icing off, leaving the cake, so its really not worth it. This recipe was a staple in our home once a week for about 2 years from when we met until Mr Point Five ‘fessed up one God-awful, possibly divorce instigating fact; he detests bacon. White Chocolate Mousse Easter Eggs with Curd Filling

 To give credit where credit is due this idea was not my own. I was inspired by this post but I thought I would improvise a little. I had just made an Easter Cheesecake for Mr Point Five to take to work so I was kinda over the whole cheesecake thing so I thought to make a white chocolate mousse instead to masquerade as the egg white. How to make a Malteaser Christmas Tree.

So, I made this cake to enter into our local towns annual Fair for Best Chocolate Cake Competition…. (It won – there were two entrants) I saw it on facebook somewhere and thought meh, I can do that.
