Living starts NOW!

We are here! Due to Master J’s perfectly awful stress hives/bedwetting regression/unsettled behaviour from the past three months of upheaval and uncertainty, the boys and I left Mr Point Five up in our old town to sort out the packers whilst we drove 650km to Perth three days early with a trailer and a screaming cat. Half way down when we stopped for fuel, I received a call on my messagebank from the cattery which was left two hours earlier, wondering what time we were arriving as they were about to close. After a flurry of messages to, and...

Merry Christmas from Me

*waves excitedly* With a few nips and tucks (read: EDITS), my little old blog is back in its entirety. As Basil Fawlty said about the War, just don’t mention videogate ūüėČ #allthesqueeees For those of you following along on facebook, you will know that our Christmas Day did NOT go to plan. As I have mentioned before, being a Police Wife and Mum, you need to be adaptable. In face if I could choose only one quality that a police wife needs to possess, it would be adaptability. Mr Point Five finished his shift Christmas Eve at 4pm. He...

Losing my Tradition

As the Australia Day long weekend finishes, I am thinking that one of the things I miss most about¬†moving house all the time¬†, is not having any traditions anymore. It really does suck.   When I was a little girl, we lived in the same house until I was thirteen and my parents split up. Even though it all changed that year, I have such beautiful and fond memories of our family traditions until then.   Our Christmas tree that we had selected fresh each year always stood in the same spot. We celebrated Christmas with the same people...

How to make a Malteaser Christmas Tree.

Image Credit So, the image above has been floating in my head as a treat to have on the table for Christmas Day. I decided it couldn’t be THAT hard and today I tried to recreate it in all its chocolate malty goodness. Here are some of my failed attempts and (eventual) success tips My FIRST idea was to use that icing that comes in a tube that you write with. I got two layers on and quickly realised that it wasnt going to work; I needed something gooier. So I decided to melt some chocolate (I wasted half...

Not a Secret anymore!

So most of you know the sad, sad story about Master J¬†snaffling all my rings¬†whilst I was doing the dishes one morning. And then, most of you know the story of where I¬†begged Secrets-Shhh¬†with a promised review¬†to replace my beloved pushing present that hubby had given me when G Man was born. So here it is! My gorgeous ring from Secrets-Shhh Isn’t she beeeee-you-tiful??? She is a simulated carat Sapphire with 40 teeny tiny simulated diamond chips set into the¬† split 10 carat gold band. I heart it and it sits next to my “now found” wedding ring....

Santa and the gang are no lie.

So, I had a few comments on my¬†Easter Bunny post¬†that I was lying to my children by telling them about Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. Apparently by doing this I was also encouraging my children to lie to me as I seemed to find untruths acceptable. ¬†Here is my answer as to why Mr¬†Point¬†Five and I choose to procreate such myths….. ¬†¬†Our kidlets, as¬†I’m¬†sure do most of yours, watch fairy tales and cartoons on the TV. If not, I am sure they read the books and turn pages with wonder. You can see their...

Easter Bunny? Are you for real???

So we were in the shops yesterday and we see the Easter Bunny. I take the boys over for a happy snap. We get home and I am excitedly telling hubby that the boys saw the Easter Bunny today. G Man (just turned¬†five) pipes up – that wasn’t the Easter Bunny mummy.¬† That was a man.¬†I¬†felt his arms. My heart sinks…..This is the first Easter that¬†he has really grasped the whole concept of the EB and I¬†couldn’t¬†bear it if it ended before it began. So it was a man dressed up to LOOK like the Easter Bunny was...

Twas a week before Christmas…and I forgot my damned list!

What a Mind Fart of a day! Left home at 8:50am with the two kids, minus the husband, for the 90km drive to Albany for G Mans weekly speech therapy appointment at 10am. Also on the agenda is the entire grocery shop for Christmas Day, but I was smart РI had done a LIST comprising the menu and itemised and grouped into sections of the shop. Clever me. We also  had to stop by the grog shop for essentials as well as Spotlight because I wanted to make THIS! Spotlight is next to Officeworks and hubby needs a...

Sesame Street time – one of these things just doesn’t belong here.

They are a mix of handmade beaded decorations my beautiful (late) Grandmother made and used to hang on her tree as well as some beaded decorations I have made myself over the past 10 or so years.  There are some gold filigree decorations I bought in New York, Boston and Arizona when I was there as well as a few other NYC souvenirs Рcheck out the shoes and handbag Рarent they to die for??
