Our cool and creepy little discovery.

(not sponsored in ANY WAY AT ALL – we just thought this place was FABULOUS!)   See that picture above?? That’s the Town of Beaufort River, about 180km south of Perth, WA, population…….hmmmmm, the owners of the Roadhouse and that farm below it. Or maybe they are the same people. Anyway – population is meagre. Ten perhaps with a good swing of a cat to any other populated towns up or down the highway. We pass by this place each time we drive up to Perth but until last weekend we have never stopped. So glad we did!! Oh...

123 Magic with a Twist.

As far as I can remember, I only ever got smacked once as a child.  I am 40 this year and I can still recall very clearly that afternoon, about 30 years ago. I had been asking Dad for quite a while to buy me a Twister game and he had repeatedly said No.  I thought the lesson here to be learnt was for me to be inventive. To rely not on the money of my parents, but on my own creativity and ingenuity. To think outside the square. I REALLY wanted a Twister. SO…… One afternoon, with a friend over...

Bugger the Housework – my babies won’t wait.

Today is Sunday, the weekend.  Remind me again, what’s that?? We have all been sick all of this week and most of last week – there has been weezles and sneezles, coughing and vomits. There has been man-flu and ear-ache. Lots of antibiotics, cough syrup, panadol and eucalypt oil. We could open our own chemist I reckon. We are exhausted and drained, I am still feeling like a shadow of myself, but today we are all feeling a bit better. We are on the mend. Hubby is going to work. (finally, or I think I may maim him) I...

Guest Blog – Something of My Own.

As you all know, I am up North enjoying a summer holiday instead of the wet winter on offer at home. The lovely Alexis from Busymee has agreed to do a guest blog for me as I am spending most nights up here  eating seafood and getting tipsy with the in-laws so not much blogging is taking place on my behalf. I promise I will have photos and stories galore when I get home, but in the meantime enjoy a post from Alexis – one I can definitely relate to!! Something of My Own. Since having children I have noticed...

FML – just for a night.

I would like to take you back to a night about 3 years ago, give or take, when it was just one point five kids and Mr Point Five was working evening shift so it was just me and the G Man aged about 9 months. This evening was my first experience with what to do when your baby poo’s in the bath. RULE 1. don’t freak out and pull out the plug – you will lose sight of the poo once the water has gone as it probably has gotten wedged inside a plastic boat of some description. If there is water,...

You can leave your Hat on.

It was our son’s first birthday over the weekend and hubby and I decided just to have some close friends over with their kids for some drinks and a lunch BBQ with nibbles, salads and of course a birthday cake. Three weeks before I had ordered the champagne online to be delivered and reminded Hubby that he had to get the keg made and on for the blokes who would be there. A week earlier I had the menu written. Four days before I had the shopping list written out and ordered the bread rolls fresh-made to be picked...
