Sesame Street time – one of these things just doesn’t belong here.
Below are some of our Christmas Tree Decorations.
They are a mix of handmade beaded decorations my beautiful (late) Grandmother made and used to hang on her tree as well as some beaded decorations I have made myself over the past 10 or so years.
There are some gold filigree decorations I bought in New York, Boston and Arizona when I was there as well as a few other NYC souvenirs – check out the shoes and handbag – arent they to die for?? Also one from the Museum of Natural History over there as well.
We each have a beautiful bauble with our names on them and each year we buy one or two Royal Doulton or Prince Albert decorations at the Christmas Sales in January.
We also have one from the year our boys were born, Babys First Christmas. Naaaaw.
Today, we went shopping and Mr Point Five chose two for the boys to hang on the tree.
Can you pick which they are???
Can you guess which two they are?!?!?!
I cannot begin to tell you how completely miffed I am that they have made it into our beautiful, beautiful tree.
I live with three boys – Someone HOLD me.
SOB SNIFF.
They better bloody take them with them when they leave home.
I am totally a control freak about our tree, but I have a rule: Every tree has a front *and* a back to decorate. Sometimes the kids ‘quaint’ decorations need to fill up the spaces on the back of the tree! Maybe the back of your tree is looking a little bare too???
Ha ha ha so Mr .5 and G 🙂 Good luck Lisa, you will forever be outnumbered until your boys get married!! xo
Now THERES a good idea! Love it!!! Cant believe I didnt think of it. xxx
You’ll keep with your Ha Ha Ha. xxx
Lol! Those ornaments will always be special now because they will remind you of this Christmas and how little the kids were. I remember one year our tree was too tall for the house and my dad went outside to cut some off of it. When he came back in he had cut off the top. My mother was not a happy woman.
I am a mum of boys too…. 4 of them…. I had to give in on my controlling the tree but thank goodness I haven’t let them see those decorations as I am sure they would be on the tree here too. I feel your pain and would be sobbing with you
Thankyou – we can cyber hold each other. 🙁
Oh GOODNESS!! Big Mistake – HUGE. your poor Mum. And no – they will never be special to me 🙂
Too funny!
Ha! My boys would LOVE those ornaments, and I’d probably let them get them too, because my nice themed tree from before-kids-days became a shamozal once they started making Christmas stuff at school. So now I just throw my hands up in the air and let them go for it. This post made me smile. 🙂
I love it! My gorgeous tree has now become a family tree of memories and additions, I love the story now more than the tree! My mum used to put those handmade decorations up every year, our tree looked terrible but we still have them all and I love looking at them when I unpack the Chrissy decos every year.
I would be sobbing too!
