Mr Point Five: My Bad.

Here are my top three things that Mr Point Five currently does or has done under his new mantle of parent that make me shake my head with amusement, annoyance and total wet-my-pants laughter. 1. He never checks what’s in the nappy before he takes it off for the bath. Now to me this is common sense, not as a mother, or a woman, but as a PERSON WHO DOESN’T WANT TO GET POO ON THEIR HANDS AND EVERYWHERE ELSE. Maybe its because I am the chief nappy changer in the house and I have ESP when it comes to them...

Meet Boris, my Nemesis.

Meet Boris. I hate him. Night before last I may or may not have stayed up a little bit late having finished  off a bottle of wine all to myself.  I lay in bed (I may or may not have had one foot on the floor) and just as I was about to drift off I hear this SNOOORRRRRE and tssssssssssssssss Its very distinctive and I knew exactly what it was. It was BORIS.  Pissed off cos nobody was playing with him. I’m sure you all have a Boris – a toy that tries to cajole your child into playing...

Moving House with Kids….

We move house in three days and there is so much to be done, the list is endless! Well, my list is anyway. The kids are oblivious and Mr Point Five has to work right up until the pre-pack day. Explaining the lingo – prepack is the day the movers come to the house and pack up all our stuff for us. Uplift is the day after when they come with the van and take it away (hubby doesn’t always get this day as a RDO)and Unpack is the day after when they arrive at our new house at...

The best perk of Kindy

I have to admit, I am so very nervous about G Man starting Kindy next month. He has never spent a single day in day care and I have been witness to all his milestones, big and small, thus far. I am already envious of his teacher who will probably get to see him form his first letters and hear him say so many new words for the first time, except she won’t know him and won’t know they are new. I don’t want to even THINK about all the little milestones that will go unnoticed full-stop due to so many kids achieving at the...

Linky Blog – Advice to My Sons.

This blog is written with inspiration from The Things I Could Tell You Blog – cheers Melissa for taking me on a different tangent and making me think about the kind of boys I want to raise This week’s prompt: “If you could only give your children one piece of advice, what would it be?” Source:  via Melissa on Pinterest The quality that made me fall in love with my husband is his steadfast integrity, in his profession, his relationships with his peers and foes and also with his loved ones. Integrity makes a man. Without it, you will never succeed, not fully,  in...
